Sustainable management for people and the environment
It's a question of respect
For us, sustainability means more than the responsible use of our natural resources. In accordance with our corporate value of respect, sustainability also includes the responsibility we have for our employees and their families and the social environment at our locations. This is why we are committed to sustainability not only as part of our comprehensive environmental management system. We also make a contribution with the numerous measures we have implemented in our personnel policy and the many activities we offer as part of our social commitment.
MICHELFELDER practices environmental protection
The foundations for the development of an internal environmental management system at MICHELFELDER Group were laid as early as 2009. We introduced the environmental management system based on DIN EN ISO 14001: 2004; AC: 2009 standard at all German production sites of the group and it was certified for the first time in 2011. Since then, we have continuously developed and improved the system with the help of our employees. In the fall of 2014, an external audit again confirmed that we are meeting all the requirements. The MICHELFELDER Automotive site also maintains a validated environmental management system based on the EMAS directive.
Social commitment as part of the corporate culture
MICHELFELDER Group has been engaged in regional social projects for years. The company and its employees are investing their time, knowledge, work and capital in social tasks. MICHELFELDER, for example, is sponsoring Special Olympics Baden-Württemberg and the Lebenshilfe im Kreis Rottweil. The Feldsonne project Lebenshilfe Feldsonne, a facility for people in crisis situations, is especially close to our hearts.
Director Wolfgang Pfau Lebenshilfe Feldsonne: "We are very grateful, because we greatly depend on the commitment of strong partners, also from the world of business, to cover our costs." As always, the services for people in social distress or in difficult circumstances are provided by volunteers. Contributions to the annual sports event "Loßburg active" are not only made by MICHELFELDER Edelstahltechnik, MICHELFELDER Automotive and MICHELFELDER Holding at our headquarters in Fluorn-Winzeln, but also by MICHELFELDER Metall- und Lasertechnik in Spaichingen.
Commitment and responsibility are important values, not only for the company MICHELFELDER as a whole, but also for many individual employees: As many as 71 „Michelfelders“ have followed the call of the DKMS Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei (German Bone Marroy Donor Center) and are officially registered bone marrow donors.
Under the motto "Performance – Commitment – Recognition", the "SME Award for Social Responsibility in Baden-Württemberg" is regularly awarded to companies to honor their voluntary social commitment and civil engagement. The award is sponsored by the Baden-Württemberg Caritas Association and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs of the state. In 2014, MICHELFELDER Group was awarded the title SOCIALLY COMMITTED as part of this competition.
