In September 2010 a production facility in Spaichingen was added to the Stainless Steel Technology division. MICHELFELDER Metall- und Lasertechnik GmbH concentrates on sheet-metal working and stainless steel technology with emphasis placed on precision machining. The highlights are 3D-precision lasing, combined punch-laser technology, complete metal part sets supply directly to the conveyor and non-standard installations for automatic press-fit and connection technologies. Equipment is also available for de-burring, grinding and rounding-off edges.
Particularly focused upon is medical technology which is strongly represented in nearby Tuttlingen. For instance, operating table frames, instrument cases for operating instrument cleaning and precision cutting parts for the medical sector are manufactured in Spaichingen.
Absolute precision laser welding
Little thermal input, no warping, little re-finishing. The laser welding automation line (laser welding robots) opens up new opportunities and business fields. This ultra-modern unit is mainly used for welding components which – under high speeds – need to be joined with a slender weld form and with little thermal warping. A striking feature of laser welding is that all seam geometries can be produced (butt, overlapping and fillet welds).
